The municipality of Estepona has an area of 137 km2 and is located in the western part of the province of Malaga, just 48 km from Gibraltar airport and 40 minutes from Malaga airport. It has 23 kilometers of coastline, which run at the foot of Sierra Bermeja, a mountainous area that offers shelter to the city from the north and whose peak of Los Reales, with a height of 1,449 m, is the highest point in the south of the peninsula. This natural park of Sierra Bermeja houses one of the most important colonies of Spanish "pinsapos" in the Iberian Peninsula.

The almost 67,000 inhabitants of this population coexist sharing a great variety of cultures and nationalities. As a tourist destination it is a municipality of great value and appreciation for its visitors, considering it one of the most popular and valued towns on the Costa del Sol. Like all the coastline of the Costa del Sol, Estepona enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate with a privileged average temperature throughout the year of 17 ºC, reaching 40 ºC in summer and 10 ºC in winter thanks to the microclimate that creates its own sierra. All its fine sand beaches wave blue flags, including La Rada and Cristo beach, as well as the Costa Natura private beach, the country's first nudist complex.

This town has been growing and developing always maintaining a great respect for the environment and its own idiosyncrasy. Its old town has been gradually becoming and by its own merits in a high quality gastronomic area, being a clear example of a typical Andalusian village with pedestrian streets full of colourful geranium pots. Another curious characteristic of Estepona are the murals that are exhibited in a large number of facades of buildings throughout the city. Estepona is known as "the garden of the Costa del Sol" because of the countless pots and flowers that give it an Andalusian character to the almost 14 km of streets and squares of its remodeled historic center. Its gastronomy is excellent and it offers us a great variety of fish thanks to its long history as a fishing municipality: exquisite anchovies, tasty sardines, chirlas,...

Among the areas and monuments whose visit is required, we can highlight the Castle of San Luis (built by the Catholic Monarchs in the sixteenth century), the tower of the destroyed Church of the Fortress in the Clock Square (15th century), House of Aljibes, which houses the archaeological museum, and the municipal food market. Another must see is Selwo, a zoological theme park with an area of 100 hectares where more than 200 species of different wild animals coexist in semi-freedom and in a natural habitat recreated to perfection. It can be explored on foot or SUV. Also worth mentioning is the School of Equestrian Art, one of the most important in Europe and officially qualified as an Riding School of 4 stirrups by the British Horse Society and the Andalusian Equestrian Federation. Equally interesting is the Pedregales Park of Sierra Bermeja, or San Isidro Park, located at a distance of only 8 km from the urban center and where you can see a variety of beautiful native stones along its many stony paths .

Another gem that Estepona offers us is the Orquideario, a botanical park of 1,000 m2 erected on the famous Terraza Street, famous for being the main commercial artery of the city. In this park thousands of species of orchids live among waterfalls. The largest of its three glass domes is one of the highest glass domes in Spain. And we can not forget its Marina, which offers the visitor a great gastronomic and sporting offer, with almost 450 moorings, fishing boat trips and whale watching. On Sundays you can enjoy the attractive and peculiar market that is installed in the main streets of the port.

In terms of real estate supply, it is important to highlight the quality of the new developments and their high architectural level. An ideal place to live because it offers a quality of life that in very few places can be enjoyed, which is why it has become a favourite destination for tourism, especially residential. Many are the visitors who decide to buy a property in Estepona when they discover the beauty, the quality of life and the well-being that this wonderful town offers.
