Manilva is the westernmost municipality of the province of Malaga whose territory borders the province of Cádiz, the Guadiaro river and Casares. The population of Manilva is divided into three cores: the coastal town of San Luis de Sabinillas, Castle of Duquesa and Manilva itself, only 2 km from the coast. This seaside town is located at a distance of just 46 from Marbella and 104 km from the capital Malaga. It enjoys a privileged location and its Sabinillas district offers almost 8 km of excellent and quiet sandy beaches, as well as coves in rocky inlets.

Its economy is based on fishing and its vineyards, whose grapes produce an excellent and unique semi-sweet wine thanks to the climate of the area. In its beaches you can practice all kinds of outdoor sports and its waters are ideal for kitesurfing, windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing and other water sports. It is also an ideal place to practice golf at the Golf & Country Club La Duquesa, as well as for horseback riding and hiking on its many trails and paths.

One of the main attractions of this coastal town is its gastronomic offer of fish, meat, paellas and skewers that you can savor in its many bars, restaurants and beach bars. Another unique attraction of Manilva are its two street markets: on the promenade every Friday there is a market where you can buy vegetables, fruits, clothes and all kinds of utensils; the other portcullis, much larger than the promenade, is installed on the fairgrounds every Sunday morning and there you can find everything from antiques and paintings to organic fruits and vegetables, as well as all kinds of first-class  or second hand items. During the summer, markets are also installed both in the Port of Duquesa and along the entire promenade.

The Castle of Duquesa is a fortress built in the eighteenth century that offered protection to an old Roman villa that adjoined a salting factory. This same site also houses the Archaeological Museum of Manilva. Another peculiarity of this municipality is its numerous lookout towers nestled along its coast.

Puerto de la Duquesa is one of the most cute marinas and most charming of all the Malaga coast. In its varied premises you can enjoy a great gastronomic and leisure offer. And of course, we can not fail to mention its festivals that are already famous throughout the coast: the Night of San Juan, the Night of the White Moon, the day of Virgin Carmen, the festivity of the Harvest, etc.

In short, if you are looking for an ideal place to relax and enjoy a quality of life that few places offer, you should spend your holidays or buy a property in Manilva.
