Sotogrande, next to the Zagaleta, is one of the two most exclusive luxury urbanizations in Europe. This urbanization built on the banks of the Guadiaro River belongs to the municipality of San Roque, Cádiz, and enjoys a privileged location, as it is located a step away from the Gibraltar airport and just 35 minutes from Marbella, as well as other towns on the Costa del Sol.

It is usual to walk through the streets and the marina of Sotogrande and meet important personalities, both national and international.

It has five golf courses, including the Real Club de Golf Valderrama, perhaps the best golf course in the world, which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup, and the first one built in this area by the famous field designer Robert Trent Jones. More and more houses were built around the countryside until it became the luxury urbanization that it is today. It also offers other fields such as the San Roque Club, the Old Course (in which Severiano Ballesteros himself participated) and the New Course, where the Spanish Open have been held, as well as his prestigious Golf Academy directed by Thomas Johanson.

Apart from golf, Sotogrande is also a point of reference and a key point for the practice of polo in Spain. It has the beautiful Polo Club of the Beach and international competitions such as the International Polo Tournament are held in its facilities.

As far as sailing is concerned, it goes without saying that Sotogrande offers what no other residential area can offer: the luxury of docking your own yacht right on your doorstep, given that there is an access channel to the properties for that the owners can get on board their boats to their property.

The beach of Sotogrande is easily accessible from the port itself or from the Royal Maritime Club. Next to this we will find other beaches, such as Torreguadiaro and Cala Sardina. Among the clubs offered by Sotogrande, three stand out from the rest: the Beach Club el Octógono, with its restaurant Quo, the Beach Club Trocadero Sotogrande, with a wide range of salads and high-class Mediterranean cuisine, and the Real Club Marítimo de Sotogrande, meeting place of the jet set.

The gastronomic offer is second to none, grilled meats at the Polo Club or the best fish and seafood at Trasmallo de Agustino, as well as celebrity parties and exquisite places to enjoy a good gin and tonic, like the Gray Goose where you can listen to good music until the wee hours of the morning.

In short, people who want an exclusive luxury destination or enjoy life with calm and tranquility usually buy a property in Sotogrande.
